Omschrijving
For one of our international banking clients, we are looking for an experienced Network Segmentation Consultant to support a large-scale cyber resilience and DORA compliance initiative. The client is implementing a network segmentation program focused on protecting critical applications through the establishment of security zones and the restriction of network communications between environments. The segmentation architecture is being deployed using Cisco ACI, in collaboration with the client's infrastructure partner. As the current consultant is leaving the project, we are seeking a hands-on technical expert who can seamlessly take ownership of the network segmentation workstream and drive the implementation forward. Responsibilities: analyze and validate network segmentation designs and findings; review and optimize security zone structures, Cisco ACI EPGs, VLANs, routing configurations and firewall rule sets; define and implement micro-segmentation solutions for critical applications; perform firewall rule-base reviews to identify gaps, redundancies and compliance issues; map application data flows and connectivity between systems and security zones; support the migration of applications towards the target network security architecture; reduce gaps between current-state (as-is) and target-state (to-be) environments; collaborate closely with networking, infrastructure and cybersecurity teams; ensure alignment with internal security standards and regulatory requirements. Required Experience: strong hands-on experience in network security and network architecture; expert knowledge of IP Addressing (CIDR), routing and switching, network protocols, firewall technologies and rule management, VLAN design and segmentation; experience with Cisco ACI and software-defined networking environments; proven experience with network segmentation and/or micro-segmentation projects; ability to independently assess complex network infrastructures and propose secure designs; strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Nice to Have: knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF); familiarity with DORA and banking regulatory requirements; understanding of MITRE ATT&CK; experience within financial services or highly regulated environments. Offer: Location Amsterdam, Netherlands (Hybrid); Start Date as soon as possible; Duration until 31 December 2026 (extension expected); Contract Type Freelance.
