Omschrijving
As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards. The Offshore Pipeline Designer is responsible for the development and delivery of offshore pipeline design drawings and 3D models for FEED, detailed engineering, installation, and operational support projects. The role works closely with pipeline engineers, structural engineers, subsea specialists, and project teams to produce accurate and efficient design solutions for offshore oil & gas and energy transition projects. Key responsibilities include developing offshore pipeline layouts, route drawings, alignment sheets, and installation drawings; preparing subsea and offshore pipeline design documentation using 2D and 3D CAD tools; creating pipeline general arrangements, crossings, tie-ins, spools, riser interfaces, and subsea structure drawings; supporting seabed routing and corridor development activities; producing design deliverables in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. Engineering support includes working with pipeline engineers to translate engineering calculations into design models and drawings, supporting FEED and detailed engineering projects, incorporating survey, geotechnical, and installation data into design outputs, and assisting with design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, and installation studies. Project execution involves delivering assigned design work within budget and schedule, coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, maintaining drawing registers and document control requirements, and participating in client meetings and design reviews. Quality & safety duties ensure compliance with company quality procedures, application of industry codes and standards including DNV, API, ISO, and client specifications, and promoting safe design principles. Typical deliverables include pipeline routing drawings, alignment sheets, pipeline crossing details, installation drawings, subsea tie-in drawings, isometrics, 3D models, structural drawings, and as-built documentation. Qualifications require a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Design (or equivalent), Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline, relevant offshore pipeline or subsea design experience, and knowledge of offshore oil & gas, carbon capture, hydrogen, or offshore energy projects is advantageous. Experience typically includes 3+ years of offshore pipeline design experience, experience supporting FEED and detailed design projects, familiarity with subsea developments, rigid pipelines, flexible pipelines, risers, and installation methodologies, and experience working in multidisciplinary offshore engineering environments. Technical skills include AutoCAD, preferably Civil 3D, Autodesk Inventor (advantageous), geographic chart projections (advantageous), GIS and route development tools (desirable), and understanding of offshore pipeline design principles, installation methods, and subsea structures. Competencies include strong attention to detail, team collaboration and communication skills, ability to manage multiple deliverables, problem-solving and analytical thinking, and commitment to quality and safety. At STAR, your career is our primary focus. We match you with challenging projects, offer personal guidance and create opportunities for you to develop your career.
