Packaging Compliance Specialist

Our client is a global, innovation-driven organisation in the food sector with an international R&D environment. The team works on developing and improving packaging materials and formats for diverse markets worldwide, with a strong focus on product quality, consumer safety, and compliance with evolving regulations. We are looking for a Packaging Compliance Specialist to support a global packaging team by ensuring packaging materials meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.

The focus of this role is to review and finalise compliance documentation, advise stakeholders on food contact compliance topics, and help keep global compliance data accurate and up to date.

Responsibilities: Review, assess, and finalise packaging compliance documentation in line with internal requirements and applicable regulations. Evaluate packaging materials for compliance topics such as food contact requirements and market-specific rules. Prepare, review, and manage compliance documentation, including Declarations of Compliance. Support cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Procurement, Supplier Quality) with compliance guidance during development projects.

Respond to packaging compliance and food safety-related questions from internal stakeholders and external customers. Maintain and improve packaging compliance data and documentation to ensure accuracy and traceability. Support the assessment and implementation of packaging regulatory changes (including Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation-related requirements). Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of compliance processes.

Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Packaging, Food Science/Technology, or a related field. Several years of relevant experience in food contact material regulation and packaging compliance. Strong understanding of European packaging and food contact regulations and practical experience applying them. Accurate, analytical, and proactive working style with strong ownership and attention to detail. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in an international environment.

Fluency in English. Experience with specification management systems (preferably SAP PLM) is a plus. Temporary Full-Time Contract (4 Months).
