Packaging Engineer

About the Company: An international pharmaceutical organization with a manufacturing and packaging site in Breda, supporting the supply of medicines to patients worldwide.

Role Description: As a Packaging Engineer, you will help improve packaging specifications and configurations for pharmaceutical products. Working closely with international packaging teams, QA, artwork and other departments, you will contribute to packaging improvements, new introductions and the resolution of technical issues.

Key Responsibilities: Create, maintain and update packaging component specifications and technical documentation. Prepare, review and approve testing protocols and reports. Manage documentation changes in accordance with Change Control procedures. Troubleshoot packaging component issues across production, warehousing and incoming inspection. Lead or contribute to investigations and deviations related to packaging components. Build and maintain technical relationships with approved packaging suppliers.

Lead or support projects involving packaging optimization and the introduction of new packaging materials. Collaborate with QA, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering and Validation Engineering.

Requirements: Good understanding of GMP principles and requirements. Experience creating packaging material specifications, including technical layout templates. Understanding of secondary and tertiary pharmaceutical packaging materials and equipment. Knowledge of the relationship between packaging specifications, production, artwork, supplier and regulatory requirements. Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills. Good organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Able to work independently and effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
