Platform Architect

Job Description: As a Platform Architect, you will shape the architecture and roadmap for critical IT platform services across Linux, Windows, storage, backup, disaster recovery and cyber resilience. You will work closely with Engineering, Security and senior stakeholders, guiding Solution Architects and translating business, security and regulatory requirements into scalable, secure and resilient technology solutions.

Responsibilities: Develop and maintain the architecture blueprint for Platform Services, including operating systems, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs and regulatory demands into detailed technical strategies. Provide architectural guidance on Linux, Windows, SAN, NAS, object storage, and archiving solutions. Lead the design of backup, restore, disaster recovery, and cyber recovery strategies, balancing security, operational complexity, and costs.

Co-lead the Platform Services area alongside the Area Lead and Tech Lead, providing strategic direction. Support Solution Architects across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulations. Develop roadmaps and communicate technical strategies effectively to both technical and senior business stakeholders. Facilitate cross-team collaboration and promote best practices for platform standardisation, modernisation, and improvement.

Requirements: Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field. Extensive experience in complex IT infrastructure and architecture, especially within regulated environments. Proven track record in Business, Enterprise, Solution, or Platform Architecture. Strong expertise in Linux and Windows environments. Deep knowledge of storage solutions, backup & restore, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience. Experience with both on-premise and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders. Proven experience working across multiple teams and disciplines collaboratively. Fluency in English and Dutch is essential.
