Procurement Specialist a.i.

Our client is a leading international organization operating within the logistics distribution and supply chain sector based in Delft. The company supports a diverse portfolio of customers across multiple industries and manages complex procurement and logistics operations throughout Europe. In this role as Procurement Specialist a.i. you will: Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities across indirect spend categories. Lead transportation tenders, RFQs, supplier selection processes, and commercial negotiations.

Develop and maintain relationships with transport carriers, logistics providers, and other key suppliers. Support procurement activities related to transportation, logistics, warehousing, labour, pallets, packaging, and other operational services. Drive cost optimization initiatives while ensuring service quality and business continuity. Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, and other internal stakeholders to identify sourcing opportunities and improve supplier performance.

Negotiate, review, and manage supplier contracts and service agreements. Monitor supplier KPIs, service levels, and contractual compliance. Support ongoing procurement and supply chain improvement projects. Identify risks within the supplier base and proactively implement mitigation plans. Ensure continuity of procurement activities during a period of organizational transition and resource shortages. For this role as Procurement Specialist a.i.: 5-10 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and Transport.

Proven experience in indirect procurement. Demonstrated experience leading transportation-related RFQs, tenders, and sourcing projects. Experience within a 3PL and/or 4PL environment. Understanding of broader supply chain operations and logistics processes. Experience negotiating and managing service contracts. Hands-on and execution-focused procurement professional. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Able to quickly understand complex supply chain environments.

Team-oriented personality with a pragmatic approach. Fluent in English. Based in the Netherlands and registered as ZZP (self-employed). Experience procuring categories such as: Transportation services, Logistics services, Warehousing support, Pallets and packaging solutions, Labour and operational services, Other supply chain-related indirect spend categories.
