Omschrijving
Project Engineer – UK Solar PV & BESS Portfolio. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support a growing portfolio of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK. The successful candidate will have a strong electrical engineering background and extensive experience working on UK renewable energy projects. Rather than being assigned to a single project, you will provide engineering support across multiple projects within the portfolio, working closely with project management, design, construction and commercial teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who has a strong understanding of UK Solar PV and BESS projects and is comfortable managing multiple technical workstreams simultaneously. Key responsibilities include: providing engineering support across the portfolio; supporting projects through development, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover stages; reviewing and coordinating electrical designs, drawings, specifications and technical documentation; providing technical input and engineering oversight; reviewing contractor, EPC and subcontractor technical submissions; identifying, investigating and resolving technical issues; coordinating with EPC contractors, consultants, equipment suppliers and other stakeholders; ensuring compliance with UK standards, regulations and grid requirements; supporting design reviews, technical meetings and workshops; assisting with technical queries and decisions; monitoring engineering deliverables; supporting commissioning, testing and handover; and managing multiple priorities. Requirements: strong electrical engineering background, proven experience with Solar PV and BESS projects, extensive UK renewable energy experience, understanding of UK electrical standards and grid requirements, experience with EPC contractors, ability to review electrical drawings and documentation, experience across multiple projects (highly advantageous), strong problem-solving and coordination skills, excellent communication, UK citizen with extensive UK project experience, comfortable working independently as freelancer, and available to start immediately. Working arrangement is hybrid: remote with attendance at the London office as required. Hours are 40 per week, contract length 12 months, freelance/self-employed, outside IR35.
