Project Manager

Our client is looking for a Project Manager to join them on a contract basis, taking responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering construction projects to agreed scope, programme and budget. The successful candidate will manage projects from preparation through to completion and handover, working with clients, design teams, subcontractors and site colleagues. This includes managing programme, cost and quality, controlling risks and changes, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout.

The role is expected to combine office-based coordination with regular site presence. This is a position for a project manager who is comfortable leading delivery in a busy construction environment and who can balance commercial awareness with technical understanding. It suits someone who communicates clearly with clients and site teams, keeps a firm grip on programme and cost, and is able to work independently within an established delivery structure.

Main responsibilities include: plan, manage and deliver construction projects in line with agreed scope, programme and budget; develop and maintain project programmes, work packages, resource plans and delivery strategies; manage project budgets, cost forecasting, variations and change control; coordinate design teams, subcontractors, suppliers and site management; manage risks, issues and dependencies and agree mitigation actions; oversee quality, health and safety and environmental compliance on projects; lead client communication, progress reporting and project meetings; manage procurement and subcontractor performance, including tender evaluation and contract administration; monitor site progress and resolve technical and commercial issues as they arise; manage handover, completion documentation and lessons learned.

Essential requirements: proven experience as a project manager in construction or a closely related sector; track record of delivering projects to time, cost and quality; strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts and programme management; experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multi-disciplinary teams; understanding of health and safety requirements on construction projects; good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Desirable requirements: experience on projects in the Netherlands or the wider European market; knowledge of Dutch building regulations and construction contract forms; Dutch language skills; a recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, IPMA or PMP; experience with BIM and digital project management tools. This is a contract role based in the Netherlands. Rate, contract duration, start date and working pattern are to be confirmed with candidates.
