Python DevOps Engineer — Azure Analytics Platform.

The role: Python as the actual craft, not as glue. You'll write the applications, APIs and automation that make a large internal analytics platform work — clean, modular, tested code, deployed through pipelines you also maintain. The users are data scientists and analysts inside the organisation, and the platform is treated as a product they use every day rather than infrastructure they tolerate. Roughly half building, half keeping it stable: automation, monitoring, and being quick to the cause when something falls over.

The environment: Our client is an international bank, and the platform you'd work on is where its analysts and data scientists build and run models. It's an Azure and Databricks environment with a clear ambition behind it: make the thing smarter, more flexible and less annoying to use. You'd sit in a mixed team — platform and DevOps engineers, business analysts, product owners and solution architects — that is markedly international, with English as the working language throughout.

Regulated sector, so security and access management are part of the daily engineering rather than a separate department's concern. What you'll do: Build clean, maintainable Python applications and automation that integrate with a wide range of data sources. Design and ship APIs, including integrations with third-party services.

Keep the platform stable: automate the manual, monitor what matters, resolve issues fast. Turn what stakeholders describe into something that actually works for them. Deploy and maintain services through CI/CD, containers and Infrastructure as Code. Keep an eye on where Azure is heading and bring the useful parts in.

Tech stack: Core: Python 3.x · FastAPI · REST APIs · Pytest · Docker · Azure DevOps CI/CD · Azure.

Also in the mix: Entra ID · Microsoft Graph API · Storage Accounts · Cosmos DB · Terraform · Databricks · async programming, type hinting, dependency injection.

What you bring: Must-haves: Around five years in a DevOps or engineering role, ideally on large-scale analytics or data platforms. Strong Python 3.x — clean, modular, testable code, and comfort with type hinting, async programming and dependency injection. Building APIs with FastAPI or similar, including third-party integrations.

Azure in depth: cloud-native architecture, Entra ID, Microsoft Graph API, and storage such as Storage Accounts and Cosmos DB. Docker and CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps, with APIs deployed in Azure.

Testing as standard practice: pytest, mocking, API contract testing.

Nice to have: Infrastructure as Code with Terraform. Experience on analytics or machine learning platforms specifically. You care about how your code reads six months from now, and you'd rather automate a recurring problem away than get good at solving it repeatedly.

Good to know: A pre-employment screening is part of the process — standard for the financial sector. Working language is English; Dutch is not required. You'll need a valid EU work permit or existing right to work in the Netherlands.
