SAP EWM Functional Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SAP EWM Functional Consultant for a 12-month extendable contract supporting an SAP S/4HANA warehouse-management transformation. The role is hybrid, with three days per week onsite in either the Netherlands or Luxembourg. Job title – SAP EWM Functional Consultant. Client Location – Netherlands or Luxembourg. Contract Length – 12 months, extendable. Contract type – Freelance contract / Contractor.

Project focus: You will support the design, configuration, testing and deployment of SAP Extended Warehouse Management within an SAP S/4HANA transformation programme. The assignment will focus on improving warehouse and logistics processes across areas such as inbound delivery, goods receipt, putaway, internal movements, replenishment, picking, packing, staging, goods issue and outbound delivery. You will work closely with warehouse operations, business-process owners, SAP delivery teams and technical colleagues to translate operational requirements into practical EWM solutions.

The role will also support integration with SAP MM, SD, PP, QM and, where relevant, SAP TM and warehouse automation systems. The successful consultant will be involved through functional design, configuration, testing, UAT, cutover, go-live and hypercare. This is a hands-on project role rather than a general SAP support position. Key skills and Experience required: Strong hands-on experience as an SAP EWM Functional Consultant. Proven SAP S/4HANA EWM implementation, rollout or transformation experience.

Experience configuring and supporting core EWM processes, including: Inbound delivery and goods receipt. Putaway and internal warehouse movements. Replenishment and stock transfers. Picking, packing, staging and goods issue. Handling units, warehouse orders and warehouse tasks. Wave management and delivery processing. Experience gathering warehouse requirements and translating them into functional designs. Experience leading or supporting fit-to-standard and process-design workshops.

Strong configuration knowledge across SAP EWM. Experience preparing functional specifications and working with ABAP or technical development teams. Experience integrating EWM with SAP MM, SD, PP, QM or SAP TM. Experience with test-script preparation, integration testing, UAT and defect resolution. Experience supporting cutover, go-live and post-go-live hypercare. Ability to work directly with warehouse users and operational stakeholders. Experience reviewing and resolving functional issues in a live project environment.

Strong communication skills in English. Availability to work three days per week onsite in the Netherlands or Luxembourg. Valid right to work or contract in the relevant location.

Desirable experience: Embedded or decentralised SAP EWM. SAP EWM integration with warehouse-control systems, RF, MFS or automation. SAP TM integration or transport-process knowledge. Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition or RISE with SAP. Experience migrating from SAP WM, LE-WM or a third-party warehouse-management system. Experience with slotting, labour management, value-added services, kitting or yard management. Dutch, French, German or Luxembourgish language skills.
