Security Consultant – Incident Response & Threat Intelligence

Our client, a prominent organization in the public safety sector, is looking for a security professional to join their specialized security team. The role focuses on analyzing and optimizing security processes while managing technical incident response and infrastructure protection. Responsibilities include implementing information security management processes and governance documentation, performing vulnerability analyses and security assessments across data, infrastructure, and applications, managing security incident triage, log analysis, and threat intelligence operations, optimizing application security and implementing privileged access management or encryption solutions, monitoring and securing network environments using firewalls and endpoint detection tools, and applying security frameworks and benchmarks to ensure organizational compliance and defense effectiveness.

Requirements include 1+ years of experience in security consulting within data, infrastructure, or application environments, 1+ years of expertise in Log Analysis and Incident Response, 1+ years of experience in Security Incident Triage and Threat Intelligence, knowledge of Windows Security, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO, familiarity with TCP/IP networking including VLANs and network troubleshooting, experience with Firewall Log Analysis and EDR solutions, experience in analyzing, optimizing, and documenting security processes and governance, knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO27000, COBIT, NIST, OWASP, or CIS, being proactive and solution-oriented, and fluency in Dutch at a C2 level.

Nice to haves include 3+ years of SOC experience, knowledge of Elastic or other SIEM platforms and PowerShell scripting, experience with Microsoft 365 Security and Vulnerability Management, relevant certifications such as CISM, CISSP, or CEH, and familiarity with CIS Benchmarks. The offer includes a start date of 09/11/2026, a duration of 1 year, a full-time work regime, location in Ghent, a hybrid working model with onsite requirements, and a contract open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
