This role acts as a pragmatic bridge between ambitious business initiatives and robust technical realizations to ensure a future-proof and secure infrastructure. The successful candidate will drive strategic roadmaps while aligning technical blueprints with long-term organizational goals.

Responsibilities include translating high-level organizational capabilities into actionable IT roadmaps and detailed blueprints in collaboration with business architecture teams; defining and enforcing domain-specific principles and standards while ensuring alignment with reference architectures and group-level governance; leading architectural governance by presenting designs to review boards and documenting strategic logic through Architectural Decision Records; managing the application and platform portfolio by conducting regular assessments to reduce technical debt and optimize operational costs; providing strategic advisory through trade-off analyses regarding cost, risk, and complexity to facilitate executive decision-making; governing data models and integration patterns to ensure interoperability between enterprise systems and analytics platforms; and defining architectural measures for business continuity, disaster recovery, and compliance with critical infrastructure regulations.

Requirements: 8+ years of experience in IT architecture within corporate domains such as Finance, HR, Procurement, and Corporate Services; expert knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and modeling using TOGAF and ArchiMate; advanced experience with modern design practices including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Storming, and Agile Architecture; strong background in AI target architectures, AI reference patterns, and AI governance including the EU AI Act; experience with SAP products and integration architecture patterns; analytical rigor in using evaluation methods such as ATAM and Gartner TIME; deep understanding of security, availability, and resilience requirements in critical infrastructure environments; exceptional communication skills to navigate conversations with C-suite stakeholders and technical engineering teams; collaborative leadership capable of balancing innovation with long-term sustainability and operational reliability; and fluency in English.

Nice to haves include knowledge of electricity market facilitation services and system services; awareness of IT/OT integration and safety-critical systems; willingness to obtain additional certifications in cloud or data architecture; and knowledge of one or more of the other languages: Dutch, French, or German. The offer includes a start date of 19/10/2026, a duration of 3 months (renewable), full-time work regime, location in Brussels, hybrid working model (2 days per week onsite), and a contract open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
