Senior Engineer – Payments Infrastructure

As a senior engineer, you build and evolve the payment infrastructure behind one of the Netherlands' most-used apps with 11M+ users, real transactions, zero margin for error.

You design end-to-end: from architecture and solution design to deployment and continuous optimization. You influence technical direction, raise the bar on engineering quality, and help fellow engineers grow. The work spans frontend and backend, with a strong focus on cloud-native resilience and scalability in a regulated payments environment. We build on AWS, ship on GitHub, and use AI-assisted development as standard practice.

Requirements: senior-level experience in large-scale digital products or platforms; payments domain experience (processing, transaction flows, PSD2, acquiring, gateways and/or wallets); deep experience designing microservices architectures in production; strong AWS hands-on (CloudFormation, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS); proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, Java/Spring Boot, AWS CDK; experience with Agentic Engineering or AI-native development practices; day-to-day use of GitHub Copilot or comparable AI coding tools in a professional team; GitHub Actions and AI-assisted delivery workflows as part of your standard process; background in banking and/or fintech.
