Senior Full-Stack Engineer: AI Document Services.

The role: Report generation and document analysis, built as a service that other teams across a large organisation consume. You work the full width of it: the React front-end people actually use, the Python services behind it, the Azure infrastructure underneath, and the pipelines that ship it all. The AI part is central rather than decorative. These are applications built around retrieval-augmented generation and document understanding, which means the hard questions are about accuracy, cost and reliability at the same time, in an environment where neither security nor compliance is negotiable.

The environment: Our client is an international bank. You would join a cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, solution architects and product people that builds and operates the services, applications and infrastructure behind report generation and document analysis for other teams in the organisation. It is a genuinely mixed team, so you would be working next to data scientists rather than handing things over to them. Ownership runs end to end: what the team builds, the team also runs.

What you'll do: Design and build secure, scalable and cost-effective report generation capabilities. Develop front-end functionality in React and TypeScript, and back-end services in Python. Design and integrate APIs that connect systems and platforms securely and reliably. Automate deployment, configuration and governance through CI/CD pipelines. Improve the platform's observability, reliability and ease of use. Pair with colleagues on the problems that are genuinely hard.

What you bring: Must-haves: Five or more years of professional software engineering experience.

Strong full-stack development: Python on the back end, React and TypeScript on the front. Experience building applications with AI capabilities, including a solid grasp of retrieval-augmented generation. Hands-on Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architecture. Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. Containerisation and modern development workflows.

Nice to have: Observability and monitoring. Automated testing. Experience working alongside data science teams. You have worked across more than one team, product or organisation, and you bring that wider view of how engineering is done. You move work forward when the path is not fully mapped yet, you know how to find the right person rather than the nearest one, and you will challenge an idea without making it personal. Strong fundamentals and an ownership mindset matter more here than matching every line above.

Good to know: A security screening is part of the process, as is standard for the financial sector. Working language is English; Dutch is not required. You'll need a valid EU work permit or existing right to work in the Netherlands.
