Functie: Senior Java Developer (21+, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, Azure Devops) (QR11208) Start: 1-9-2026, 36 uur per week Periode: 3 mnd+ Omgeving: Amsterdam Omschrijving: For our client in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Senior Java Developer (21+, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, Azure Devops). The Opportunity You will be working in the domain in a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for realizing the core platform of our client. Currently, the team is working on a platform for building and providing WebComponents used globally. We have raised internal software engineering to the core focus. Better technology, direct user feedback, fast delivery processes, and maximizing automation are the current standard of excellent service in these modern times. This mean lots of room for new ideas, and the chance to roll out this potentially successful product to multiple countries in the world. The Team To be more specific, our squad is called Bifrost and we form a large part of our Frontend Foundation Web area. Our focus is on improving the way our client integrates and deploys our code, from concept to production. Our aim is to provide a better experience for our engineers and ultimately, for our clients. You will join a newly formed team of highly skilled people to create the next generation of our frontend delivery services. The team's directive is to deliver a high performing, scalable and fast solution that will be used globally using the latest tech stack. The immediate focus of the squad is the migration of our Frontend controller to Java. As a Senior Software engineer you will need to wear many hats to help your squad reach your goals. Some of the roles and responsibilities that we would like to see: Contribute to a safe and productive working environment. Always take the opportunities to help others be successful. Be involved into the whole development life cycle, from refinement to monitoring in production. Be available for support and incident management of our products. Being on call 24/7 every 4 to 8 weeks Help maintain and support the existing products and goals. Create and maintain product Risk documentation. Contribute towards a realistic roadmap for your squad. Become a Security Champion for your team. Our Stack Within the IT Chapter, we mainly use the following technologies and frameworks: Java, Rest API, Kafka, Cassandra, Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipeline, Boards, Artifacts), Maven, Elastic Search. All based on a Container Hosting Platform (Openshift, Kubernetes) on which we deliver every two weeks new features into production. How to Succeed We hire smart people like you for your potential. You are experienced in Java 21air+ (LTS versions), and you enjoy coming up with solutions. You are experienced in Spring boot/Spring latest. You have sound knowledge of Microservices. You have experience with working in a distributed and challenging IT environment with async communication channels (we leverage Kafka a lot). Strong experience with Azure, Azure DevOps. Great analytical skills and conceptual/architectural understanding, ability to quickly understand new technical concepts that are outside of your comfort zone Good knowledge of Performance/Capacity/Availability (Elastic search and Kibana). Have passion to automation and continuous improvement. Strong knowledge on Networking (dns, http) and security (TLS, PKI) You have experience with NoSQL and SQL databases. You have experience in an Agile/Scrum/Dev/Ops team. You are a team player and a true professional in every way. Have good communication skills and are open to new ideas. Strong technical communication skills and keen to engage with customers. Help your team grow and benefit from diversity of opinions and skills. Ability to step out of the comfort zone. Be a frontrunner and willing to learn new things. Work secure, tidy and careful. Nice to have • Experience with performance testing (Gatling). • Experience and thorough understanding of (test) automation, continuous delivery, deployment tools, and pipelines. We work with Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Openshift, Kubernetes, Checkmarx, Azure Artifacts • The ability to transfer knowledge back to the ING Bank by holding presentations, workshops, documentation, and most important: setting new standards for the ways we do tech. • Experience with working in multidisciplinary teams and agile way of working • To handle application risk controls efficiently, proactively contributing to preventing security and
