Senior Platform Architecture Specialist

A leading financial institution in the Netherlands supporting critical banking services through a large and sophisticated technology environment. The organization is committed to investing in secure, resilient, and modern technology platforms to ensure seamless service delivery in a highly regulated setting. We are looking for a Senior Platform Architecture Specialist to define and drive the future architecture of our IT platform services. You will translate business, security, regulatory, and technical requirements into practical architecture strategies and roadmaps, with a focus on stability, security, scalability, and resilience.

Responsibilities: Develop and maintain the Platform Services architecture and roadmap; translate business and security requirements into practical technical solutions; define strategies for Linux, Windows, storage, backup, and disaster recovery; develop cyber resilience and system recovery strategies; guide Solution Architects and technical teams across multiple squads; ensure architecture follows security, enterprise, and regulatory standards; advise Engineering, Security, and Senior Management on architecture decisions; drive standardisation, modernisation, and continuous improvement of platform services.

Requirements: Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience; extensive experience in IT infrastructure and architecture; strong experience in Enterprise, Solution, Platform, or Infrastructure Architecture; strong knowledge of Linux and Windows; expertise in storage, backup, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience; experience with on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments; strong communication and stakeholder-management skills; pragmatic, solution-oriented approach with the ability to influence without formal authority; fluent in English and Dutch; experience in a highly regulated environment, such as financial services, is a plus.
