Senior Project Leader

A major Belgian insurer in Brussels needs a Senior Project Leader in Life Information Systems for life-product developments including underwriting and claims management systems. You drive multiple IT projects across mainframe and .NET technologies, coordinating teams and stakeholders to deliver on firm timelines.

Responsibilities: Define stakeholders, set up steering committees and implement the communication plan; Manage and challenge business requirements with architects and business owners; Coordinate architecture activities and outputs with architects; Build project budget, product breakdown and detailed work-packages; Follow development progress and report on scope, quality, timing and budget; Identify risks and issues, define actions and maintain a risk/issue/action log; Stimulate collaboration across teams and support skill development.

Business experience: Insurance services (around 10 years, Mandatory), Projects delivered with more than 1000 mandays (Mandatory), DWH experience (Preferable), Business analyst experience (Preferable).

Functional experience: IT project management on the application side (around 10 years, Mandatory), Prince2 methodology (Mandatory), Waterfall methodology (Mandatory), Agile / Scrum (Preferable).

Technical experience: Microsoft Office tools (Mandatory), Test management principles (Preferable).

Language requirements: English (Good, Mandatory), Dutch (Good, Not mandatory), French (Good, Not mandatory).

Soft skills: Clear and adaptable communicator; Methodical, structured and proactive; Self-driven and result oriented with attention to quality and detail; Analytical with a pragmatic mindset; Client oriented. Start date ASAP, duration 12 months, extension possible.

Location: Brussels centre - 2 days/week on site, 3 days/week teleworking. Remote/telework from Belgium only.
