This role is focused on digital accessibility and inclusive services to create more accessible travel. Senior Researchers conduct research end-to-end for high impact, leading stakeholders to the best collaboration with research for their goals. They initiate research efforts serving track or BU goals in the medium- and long-term given a well-informed understanding of the business Senior Researchers formulate programmes of study and cumulative knowledge sharing relevant to the strategic objectives of their teams and tracks.

They lead projects that are collaborations with other insight functions and stakeholders. They account for the pros and cons of various research methodologies mentor others the use of techniques and tools for high-quality execution.

Key Responsibilities: Research Skills: Expert at evaluating research opportunities, particularly good at ambiguous requests e.g. determines the importance, urgency, and impact. Will manage, challenge and shape inbound research requests, and propose solid research projects or programs. Exhibits research excellence executing projects with existing skills while exploring alternate methods, mixed methods and innovative approaches. Deeply understands the pros and cons of quantitative and qualitative research - and uses this knowledge to direct projects to appropriate methods.

Has expertise in a Domain (ex. Pricing), a user type (ex. Business traveler) or a method (ex. Diary Study) and is the 'go-to person' on the research team for this Triangulates findings, methods, and theories within a project to ensure reliability and depth of insight. Maximizes the value and efficiency of research by applying secondary research and expert inspection methods. Knows some tools well and can choose the appropriate overall software common in the field (e.g. for surveys, diary studies, analysis).

Solid knowledge of GDPR, data compliance and ethics that is present in all of their activities.

Business Impact: Researcher regularly identifies opportunities within the business area to develop deep knowledge that has a long 'shelf life'. Research insights are integrated into core strategic decisions and frameworks of the team or track area. Understand and apply knowledge to the competitive environment, providing differentiation or other advantages.

Communication & Collaboration: Drives cross discipline/department collaboration via research insights/activities. Collaborates efficiently with other researchers and other disciplines with clear commitment to shared ownership. Shows excellence in their communication skills; tailored communication style for different audiences, concise and to the point, open to take input and feedback. Contributes to the communication and implementation of agreed standards of research excellence across the organization.
