Volledige omschrijving
Company: Our client is a large international organisation running project activities across the Netherlands. Safety, compliance, and responsible environmental practices are key priorities in everything they do. The teams work closely with contractors and site stakeholders in a busy, operational environment.
Job Description: We are looking for a Site HSE Advisor (Safety & Environment) to support and drive health, safety, and environmental standards on project sites. The role focuses on preventing incidents by identifying risks early, ensuring safe ways of working, and improving compliance on the ground. This person will be the main HSE point of contact on site and will work closely with project teams and contractors.
Responsibilities: Set up, implement, and monitor site HSE plans and procedures in line with legal and internal requirements; perform site inspections and audits, identify hazards/non-compliances, and ensure corrective actions are completed; lead incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and prevention actions; deliver HSE inductions and safety awareness sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors; prepare and maintain HSE documentation and reporting (incidents, audits, actions, training records); support and review risk assessments, method statements, and work permits before and during site activities; liaise with project management, contractors, and (when needed) regulatory stakeholders on HSE matters; monitor environmental topics such as waste, emissions, and resource use, and support continuous improvement; promote a proactive safety culture through communication and engagement on site.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Engineering, or similar; at least 5 years of experience in an HSE role (ideally in energy, construction, or manufacturing); strong practical experience with audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations; good knowledge of Dutch and European HSE legislation/standards; relevant HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, MVK/HVK); fluent in Dutch and English; strong communication skills; able to influence different stakeholders on site; valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites within the Netherlands.
