Site HSE Specialist

Our client is an international company operating in the energy sector, delivering technology and solutions that support reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure. The organization works on complex projects where safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence are essential. We are looking for an experienced Site HSE Specialist to support project sites across the Netherlands. In this role, you will ensure that health, safety, and environmental requirements are followed throughout project execution.

You will work closely with project managers, employees, and contractors to identify risks, prevent incidents, and promote a strong safety culture on site. Responsibilities include developing and implementing site-specific HSE plans and procedures, conducting site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments, investigating incidents and performing root cause analyses, providing safety training and toolbox talks, reviewing risk assessments and work permits, maintaining HSE documentation, monitoring environmental compliance, acting as the main point of contact for site-related HSE matters, ensuring compliance with Dutch HSE legislation and standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and promoting continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; a minimum of 5 years of experience in a dedicated HSE role, preferably in energy, construction, or industrial environments; relevant HSE qualifications such as MVK, HVK, or NEBOSH; strong knowledge of Dutch and European health, safety, and environmental legislation; proven experience in site inspections, risk assessments, HSE audits, and incident investigations; knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and relevant safety procedures; excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and collaborate with different stakeholders; proficiency in Microsoft Office; and a valid driver's license with willingness to travel to project sites across the Netherlands.
