Software Asset Management Officer

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is seeking a Software Asset Management Specialist to support their IT licensing operations. The role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of software assets while ensuring contractual compliance and cost optimization across departmental functions. Responsibilities include managing the complete IT license lifecycle including request, acquisition, deployment, and renewal phases; maintaining an accurate and reliable database for active, expired, and retired software licenses; analyzing software contracts and licensing clauses in collaboration with procurement and finance teams; monitoring usage data to identify underutilized assets and propose optimization strategies; implementing and tracking key performance indicators related to compliance and potential savings; and preparing analytical reports and dashboards to support management decision-making.

Requirements: 3+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or IT Procurement; knowledge of SAM/ITAM solutions and licensing models for major software publishers; advanced data analysis skills using Excel, SQL, and Power BI; administrative rigor and analytical mindset; proactive attitude with strong sense of ownership and communication skills; and fluency in English with professional proficiency in French or Dutch.

Nice to have: willingness to obtain specific SAM certifications.
