As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers to ensure reliable supply and optimal commercial outcomes. Negotiate quotations, contracts, and purchase orders to secure high-quality goods and services while minimizing total cost of ownership. Coordinate annual contracting activities and provide commercial leadership for special procurement projects and one-off purchases. Implement and manage supplier relationship programs, including supplier performance reviews and regular assessments. Identify and support cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with business stakeholders. Monitor and administer procurement contracts, purchase orders, savings reporting, and sourcing documentation while ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. Lead or support competitive sourcing activities, including requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposals (RFP). Monitor market developments and recommend alternative suppliers, technologies, or commercial approaches where appropriate. Drive supplier performance improvements, rationalize the supplier base, and manage supplier issues and escalations. Provide advanced procurement support by resolving complex purchasing challenges and assisting operational procurement teams with critical issues. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices across procurement processes and stakeholder groups. Requirements: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. Professional procurement certification (such as NEVI or CIPS) is considered an advantage. Approximately 5–10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, or customer service within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts and achieving commercial value through effective sourcing strategies. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals, contracts, and procurement data. Knowledge of procurement processes, manufacturing environments, and ERP systems such as SAP. Excellent project management, process management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and escalate issues when necessary. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across different functions and cultures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business systems. Fluency in English; Dutch language skills are beneficial.
