Test Automation Engineer – Playwright & ReadyAPI

Pauwels Consulting is looking for a Test Automation Engineer to support the digital transformation of a leading organization in the legal and professional services sector. The role involves verifying software functionality on technical and functional levels while collaborating closely with delivery teams.

Responsibilities include: reviewing acceptance criteria to ensure testability, setting up and maintaining automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, developing and executing automated test scripts for both UI and API layers, monitoring bug tracking and delivering comprehensive test reports, defining test estimates and project plans in collaboration with the lead test manager, and contributing to continuous enhancement of testing methodologies.

Requirements: 7+ years of experience in software testing with focus on UI and API automation; technical experience with Playwright, Groovy, TypeScript, and ReadyAPI; proficiency in testing Java services, web services, REST APIs, and proxy services; knowledge of Git; experience in Agile environments; proactive team player with strong analytical and communication skills; fluent in English with native-level proficiency in Dutch or French and good understanding of the other.

Nice to haves: knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Xray) and familiarity with AI prompting in QA context.

Offer: start date ASAP, duration until 31/12/2027, full-time, location Brussels, hybrid working model (2 days per week onsite, Friday mandatory), contract open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
