Test Engineer

Test Engineer for Integrated Planning & Forecasting (IP&F) within the Business Platform Schiphol Operations (BPSO), ensuring predictable, controllable, and efficient airport operations. Working in a hybrid setup (36 hours per week), you own the testing lifecycle for business-critical applications forecasting passenger flows and planning assets (such as gates, stands, buses, and baggage systems), while spearheading the transition toward test automation using Playwright.

Key Responsibilities: Test Strategy & Execution: prioritize test conditions, write test cases across multiple applications (Gate-stand, Bus, Baggage), and execute functional and non-functional tests for releases, OS patching, and lifecycle management.

Test Automation & CI/CD: set up and develop test automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright, integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps or GitHub pipelines.

Data & Environment Management: set up and maintain test data, execute regression and integration tests, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external development partners.

Quality & Issue Support: generate test reports, document findings, support application issue and support processes, and optimize overall testing workflows.

Your Deliverables: comprehensive test cases, test data environments, and executed regression/integration test suites; operational automated test scripts integrated within Azure DevOps/GitHub pipelines via Playwright; test progress reports, bug logs, and quality sign-offs for application releases and infrastructure updates.

Kandidaatprofiel: HBO/academic level of education and thinking; ISTQB Foundation level certification; minimum of 5 years of experience using test frameworks and at least 3 to 5 years of work experience as a tester within an Agile team; extensive experience conducting functional, integration, and non-functional testing; at least 3 years of hands-on experience setting up test automation frameworks and writing automated tests using Playwright (or comparable tools); familiarity with API testing tools (Postman), log/metric analysis tools (Splunk), JavaScript/Java testing frameworks, and modern cloud/web technologies; proficient in both Dutch and English (spoken and written); senior self-starter with a get-things-done mentality, pragmatic yet holding high quality standards, analytical, structured, and a collaborative team player.
