Volledige omschrijving

We are urgently looking for an experienced WTB/Mechanical engineer to provide hands on engineering and design expertise for hydrogen stations. The role is based in Utrecht or Groningen, with 2 days on-site, and offers a hybrid working arrangement. The contract is ZZP/freelance, with a start date of 1 November and an end date of 31 December 2027. Key responsibilities include developing mechanical engineering concepts, functional designs, basic designs and technical specifications for hydrogen stations and installations; performing basic mechanical checks/assessments and supervising external engineering partners; reviewing and assessing designs and technical deliverables for compliance and technical standards; coordinating mechanical engineering activities with other disciplines, project teams, internal stakeholders and external engineering companies; monitoring engineering progress, quality and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle; and contributing substantively to multidisciplinary project teams and technical decision-making.

Essential requirements include demonstrable experience in mechanical engineering/design and WTB, experience with stations, installations and/or smaller mechanical installations, experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering/project environment, experience developing, reviewing and assessing engineering designs against applicable standards and technical requirements, experience coordinating mechanical engineering activities with other disciplines, project teams, internal stakeholders and external engineering companies, and the ability to work independently within the mechanical discipline while contributing effectively to a wider project team.

You should be able to take ownership of mechanical engineering deliverables, analyze technical information and identify key issues and dependencies, work effectively with multiple engineering disciplines and external partners, maintain focus on mechanical installations and standards, communicate technical matters clearly and convert issues into concrete actions and solutions, and have experience with installations and/or stations.
